May 7th - Tyler, MN Jam

We have an invitation from Andrew Renneker to Jam in Tyler, MN on Saturday May 7th.
Here is what he has  to say:

I'll be a panel member for SMAHC (SW Minn Arts and Humanities Council) at their Artist Retreat in Tyler, MN on May 6th (Friday and Saturday). I'll be there all day on Saturday with my family. So, let's plan for Saturday! I have a panel to attend at about 2. But, am free before and after!  I, and several other musicians from SW Minn will be happy to have an impromptu jam if anybody is interested! PM me if you want to join the retreat, or even play some music with me and others!
Let's think about arriving in Tyler between noon and 1:00 pm and see what happens.  Andrew is checking to see if there is a place we can play in case the weather is not conducive to outdoor jamming.

Dell Rapids Irish Workshop

What a great time at the Dell Rapids Museum on Saturday morning April 9th.
Heather Bixler taught an Irish music workshop that was very good.  Now if all of us who attended can remember half of what Heather told us, life will be good. Just a small foray into the world of playing Irish tunes like they should be played.  WHAT FUN.  Thankfully we had our digital recorders along and can go back and review/relearn.  Well, it is off to the woodshed to learn The Rose in the Heather.

Heartland House Fundraiser

Thanks to everyone who came and played for the Heartland House benefit in Sioux Falls on Thursday April 7th. A great time was had by all playing for a great cause. Joel, thanks for providing sound.

The jam afterwards lasted until almost 11:30 that night.   Thanks Ken, Ron, Hartley and Kathryn for some great music after the event. Thanks to the Downtown Hilton Garden Inn for letting us play after the event was over.

We have to do this more often, If only the drive home was not almost 2 hours it would make it easier.
